Is Lafreniere really worth that at this point?

Definitely Yes! over the past 5 years, Washington has chosen McMichael and Lapierre in the first round, and now tell me, would they be worth exchanging for the 1st? of course not, but Alexis is already a ready player for the TOP 9 and possibly the TOP 6

I don't think that this season we will be so low in the table that we will regret this 1st. The team is counting on the playoffs

I don't see the Caps parting with their first round pick this season unless they're in solid playoff footing at the trade deadline. It's just too risky of a play.

They arent a playoff team though. If by the trade deadline they are maybe they make a deal, if theyre not no sense in wasting it

Surely people aren't giving up on Lapierre this early right? Lafreniere could take a step up this year but the risk is not worth a 1st for a fringe team like Washington. Laf alone will not make or break the Capitals year.

Coyotes would also laugh away that trade, they value Crouse quite highly and he's set to be a quality player for them, and in the trade you've proposed they get a whole lot of nothing in return. Oshie likely has Arizona on his NTC anyway, but while Mantha and Oshie can have some use to their current team, Arizona is going to require big picks to take on Oshie's deal.
