Drop Rooney, Solo, and the second from the Hanifin trade and add something on Dallas’ side. That isn’t a very good return for Hanifin. Faksa is a solid player but I’m realistic about the fact that his contract is heavy. Something along the lines of Hanifin for Faksa, Jani, first, and a good d prospect not named Harley, Nils, or Bichsel. I’d consider Bichsel if Hanifin was willing to sign a reasonable deal

Yeah that’s way not enough for Hanifin. Probably have to add a solid prospect to make it fair (with Hanifin signing an extension of course).

But even then, I don’t understand the logic behind the Stars trading for a LHD as we have already so much, from roster players to prospects.

If CGY was to rebuild(which you probably know I want them to) and we took Suter back, could we get a RD prospect like Kyrou, since we are weak there? Im thinking something like
Hanifin(reasonable extension)
For
Kyrou
Suter

Reasonable trade value wise, but like I said, idk if Dallas would want another LHD considering we already have so many, and that’s not the biggest problem in this hypothetical trade.

Suter also has a NMC in which he’d have to waive going from a playoff team in the states to a non playoff team in Canada, which I don’t see happening.

I'd move DeBrusk in a package for Lindholm, but not Backlund

Backlund for DeBrusk is a comically bad deal. Take a look at what DeBrusk has done the past two years and he’s a keeper.

I’d have an interest in Backlund if the primary cost is Grz.

It is comically bad for Boston. A team with little draft capital and needs younger players, shouldn't be trading a 26yr old goal scoring winger for a 33yr old center coming off a career year.

Idk what i'd honestly give up for Backlund. It'd be less then what CGY fans would want.
