Description

Pulock waives his NTC. Islanders are confident they can extend Nylander 9.5 x 8m.

Leafs improve their D and continue to get bigger. Islanders get a star winger. Calgary get a speedy forward who can play all 3 positions and a pick.

Most likely scenario in my mind is Nylander extending with the Leafs. This here is my perfect scenario though.

Define approach… if it’s “hey, we are trading you so just go ahead an waive” sure, pissed is accurate. If it’s “we’ve been approached by X with interest in acquiring you and felt we owed you the opportunity to decide if it’s something you would want as it’s a better chance to win a cup” sounds much different.

Either way-- NYI would rather keep Pulock for 7 years, and the rest of the trade capital -- instead of extending WN @ $9mil+ & 7th Dman.

I agree that NYI says no to this deal. However players aren’t children, some might be whiny at times but they understand it’s a business. If I’m pulock I’m taking that trade in a heartbeat and thanking them for the opportunity unless I had some special reason to stay in the city(family, hometown team, etc). Not everyone is mature so you could be right
