Think he is defensive depth, in case of injury or waiver claim (Timmins specifically).
Unless Tre is cooking a trade, looks like 20 man roster to start the season 💪

Yep he is no longer waiver exempt; the little green arrow is added to anyone’s name that is waiver exempt. Above - only Knies & Robertson are waiver exempt from this lineup

More importantly teams need a competent NHLer as # 7. They can play a lot due to injuries. Is Benoit competent?

Being a #7 is likely where he should be slotted.

The guy has played 138 games in the nhl. It’s a7th/8th dman, so no need to worry too much. Mac Hollowell played for us last year and we were fine

Benoit is AHL fodder. Seems like the 🌲 is going with 11F 7 D 20 man roster.

I don't think TML are done yet. Treliving cooking something up , might be some Pizza! Benoit can just be put in AHL to start is a non cap issue. I think he will get shared minutes once the season starts. Keefe loves his 11 and 7 that would give Benoit a very sheltered way to get his confidence also same applys for Klingberg and Timmins if he stays.
