Honestly, pretend you're the Sharks GM and try and justify why this is remotely a good trade for them. Honestly Barabanov has more value than Kuzy right now when you factor in contract and being a half competent competitor

No thanks. In terms of value, you are missing AT LEAST a 1st round pick going to Toronto. Mantha is actually a negative asset right now also. So Leafs would still turn this down with the 1st added.

Toronto only trades Nylander to upgrade their D. We didn't get a D upgrade and you also didn't leave cap space for them to upgrade their D either.

This trade really doesn't work for Toronto.

I'd love to bring Nylander to DC, but at this point it seems like it'd only happen if he hits UFA. Even then, there will still be some financial hurdles to jump through to make it happen.
