Barrie would be syck on a 3rd pair. I'd play him with JJ bc Barrie played just fine with Nate Guenin. Guenin admitted whenever he found himself with the puck, he just passed it to Barrie to let him do his thing.

JJ can erase the toughest 4th liner, tap-a-roo to Barrie, who slices & dices thru bottom six talent like Makar Jr. Amazing!

I might try McCarron on that 3rd line too, as he has good size.

Good point as those two are very solid prospects, but where G has some value is that he can play both sides. Being a puck moving D, you kind of hope that they can do both. I personally like him better there, he walks and maneuvers the blue line very well. Would not encourage putting Jack Johnson or Kurtis MacDermid on their off hands tho, as they struggle with their “good” side

Where he doesn’t have value for ANA is that he’s another undersized Dman. They have Drys already, and Zellweger coming up soon. As evidenced by their signings of Gudas and Lyubushkin, they have no more room for undersized blue liners. Girard is a good player. Just not a fit for ANA
