We all know Nylander isn't signing that deal, otherwise he'd stay in Toronto. I understand that you all are jealous up there that an all star player would sign a team friendly deal, but this trade doesn't happen. If we want Nylander, Terry's generous contract allows us to chase him as a UFA.

Nah I’ll take Terry at $7M over Nylander at $10M all day.

Not to mention, if Nylander is willing to do a sign and trade to ANA, then we know TOR isn’t committed to signing him, and Nylander is willing to entertain ANA long term. We’ll make him that offer in free agency and lose nothing. If he opts to go elsewhere, not a problem. We’re years away from competing anyways. No rush.

That was my thought. Earlier in summer I was thinking he could be a decent add for scoring, but his name alone will make him too expensive for our team without trades... which I still feel Treliving is working on.
