I like the MacDermid and Coghlan moves but not sure I see the necessity to give up the assets for VP. Hopefully that will be Kovalenko's spot long term and there would be far cheaper options in the sense of requiring less assets to fill in there for now.

Yeah the big thing for me is were in win now mode, so if we're going to move oskar and a 1st i'd like it to be for an impact now player not, 2/3 years down the road.

I’d hate to move Podkolzin, but I imagine the Canucks accept that

Completely fair, I just think Bednar would love Podkolzin, he could be an impact guy, and should be cost effective going forward

Why would the Isles want MacDermid?

Is the intent on Coghlan because he likely will be waived? I like the idea of getting some more RD depth with Manson’s potential injury woes.

MacDermid sucks so much, so I’m down for him to be moved. I wonder if some GM is dumb enough to pay more than a 7th for him.

Podkolzin would be fun but I don’t really like the idea of giving up a 1st and a former 1st for a guy that hasn’t carved out a clear NHL role yet. But I also don’t think OO will be much so that may be fine.
