I still like Tkachuk but Tuch because of contract is just so much better. If they were both 8 m then obviously Tkachuk is better but not by a ton. Skinner I don't agree at all.

On one hand Tuch and Skinner display more heart... And Tuch/Skinner have better PPG and GPG... Then you add in Ostlund being a teamate of Tuch and Skinner and a rival to Tkachuk... And you can see why he said it

Even with the contracts I’m not taking Tuch over Brady if I’m starting a team. Brady is gonna be a 90-100pt power forward and is still getting better

That is flawed thinking if you are building a team you want as many bargain contracts that produce points as possible no matter what. Prime example SEA has only 1 player making 7 M and he just got that contract and after 2 years in league already made playoffs.

Love Brady Tkachuk and would love him in the Sabres, but this is a really silly conversation to get caught up in.

I would take Tuch over Tkachuk because of contract value. Tuch's contract is amazing value, much better value than Tkachuk. I would take Tkachuk over skinner, but not tuch

I kinda agree with him on the Detroit Ottawa thing. Detroit could be just as good or better if things go right for them. Ottawa could also be much better than them and make the playoffs if things go perfectly for them. However, I personally see Ottawa missing out this year by a couple points and making it next year once the young players have taken another step. Detroit could definitely be ahead of the Sens (it isn't the most likely thing, but there are decent odds of it happening). DRW has some of the pieces to be a team that could push for a spot.

IMO, you want as many bargain contracts on your team as possible. I know another guy already said this, but if you are building a team, you want to get as many good deals as possible, and avoid big money deals. I think if most people were starting a team, they would take Tuch over Tkachuk due to the contract value

Detroit’s top 2 lines will be an issue. Raymond and Debrincat aren’t 1st liners. Compher isn’t a 2C . Copp isn’t a top 6 player. Who knows if Perron can sustain his play.

Husso hasn’t had many good season. Holl and Chiarot aren’t good

If you say Husso is bad, than so is Korpisalo. I think debrincat can play first line level alongside a good playmaker like Larkin. And Raymond will continue to grow. Comphet and Copp aren't 2 Cs, but they are strong players that can stay healthy, produce and play a 200 ft game. Ottawa also has their own issues, such as defense (not just their back end but team defense also), the fourth line and goaltending. IMO the gap between Ottawa and Detroit isn't that big

Buffalo is definitely a step above Ottawa. Here is why it is close for me between OTT/DET:

Both have strong first liner, but Ottawa gets the edge.

Both of their second lines are solid, but Ottawa gets the edge if Norris stays healthy

Both of their third lines are good, but I would prefer Detroit's

Detroit's fourth line is significantly better

Depth: I like Detroit's depth a bit more than Ottawa's

D Paring 1: Ottawa's is better but Detroit's is still really good. I fell Ottawa's is better at helping on offense where as Detroit's is better in their own end

D pairing 2: Depends on whether or not Sanderson takes the next step and if Petry has a bounce back season. If Sanderson takes the next step and Petry doesn't bounce back, OTT gets the edge. If Petry bounced back and Sanderson doesn't take the next step Detroit gets the edge. If both or neither of them take next step/bounce back it is even

D pairing 3: I would prefer Detroit's. Strong Defensive D-man options that can play as third pairing.(Maata, Chariot, Holl) Ottawa's 3rd pairing isn't as good IMO

Depth: Even. Both teams have ok depth on d

Goaltending:

Starters: I will take Husso over Korpisalo. Husso was pretty good last year but he got overworked. Korpisalo is not historical good too

Backups: Forsberg is better than Riemer, so Ottawa gets the edge

Depth: Detroit has better G depth. Lyon has shown he can be a good backup if needed. Sogard isn't quite there yet

Overall, I think it is pretty close between the two teams

You’re at a point where if you’re betting on Sanderson not taking a step and Petry bouncing back, it’s a guaranteed loss

That's just for one spot. You are completely ignoring everything else. That just shows that you know you lost. I am sure Ottawa's second pairing will be better, but it is not set in stone. Plus, you are not denying any other info that I put in there. So, yeah the gap isn't that far apart
