No I'm definitely not a homer or a troll but I actually figured a way out the Sens could sign Shane Pinto without trading anyone. They would send Brannstrom to the minors and couldn't keep any extra skaters. That would give them a little over two million to sign him.

He'd be claimed in waivers, so this is just effectively a trade for FC.

Pinto should get AT MOST 1.5 AAV on a 1 year or Dorion would just prove again how bad he is at his job.

Pinto's long term extension could be signed as early as January (3.5 months) and would end up making Pinto richer in the end by earning more in 2024-25 than he would by signing a 2 years deal now.
