Interesting but I'm not sure Colorado would accept it cus Rantanen can also play center which is extremely valuable. I think Nylander probably can but haven't seen it much so. Leafs aren't trading Klingberg unless they have lots of injuries to star players and are out of the playoffs at the trade deadline. That's possible if Matthews and Marner both have major injuries but not likely.

So let me be clear that this is an accurate asking price for Mikko. I still wouldn't want to part with him. Just too valuable for us. But this offer is definitely tempting.

Rantanen = Nylander + 3 x 1sts. Massive overpay; no chance the Leafs do this.

Well, let's be clear that Easton was seen by many as a massive overreach as a 1st rounder so we'll have to see how he pans out. But, yeah, Nylander plus 2 1sts is a lot but Mikko does it all: offense, defense, play-driving in all areas, can play C and W. It's moot, though, because the Avs would never make this trade.

Leafs need their help on defence. All that offence is great in the regular season, come playoffs our D get exploited.
