Exactly what Montreal needs, more depth Centres lmao. They don't have enough natural centres (Suzuki, Dach, Monahan, Dvorak, Evans, Newhook.) already on the roster with more in the depth charts (Beck, etc...)

I think it's going to be difficult for Montreal to turn DeSmith into a roster player unless they take on somebody who's a bit of a cap dump, but that might be throwing good money after bad because they can bury most of his cap hit if they waive him and he doesn't get picked up. Backup goalies don't have a lot of trade value.
