Would I be crazy to say Makar at 2? Ik it might be but if he’s #2 it’s not by a lot. I think Drai and MacKinnon are barely behind him

Fringe top 5. I don't think he's clearly better than any of McDavid, Makar, MacKinnon, Tkachuk, or Draisaitl. Easily top 10 though.

If it’s based off of last season where’s the reigning Norris winner Karlsson? Why is Makar so high after missing 1/4 of the season?

I think Crosby should be mentioned. He did fantastic last year and this year he should do even better as his d is better, which will allow him to spend more time in the O zone. I also think Matthews will do really good this year. Both of those guys should be on this list for this season

List is based of the 2022-2023 season which these were the top 10 players of that season so going into 2023-2024 this is the top 10 imo

I think for total points this is a good list, but if you are basing it completely off of last year than Karlsson should be here too. He will definitely regress, but he played really well last year. Overall though, lots of these players are really good, and could realistically be top ten or close to it this season. Good work 👍

If this is based of last year then where is Karlsson? And IMO Crosby and Matthews are top 10 with overall team impact, especially Crosby.

Makar still had 66Pts 60Gp and is so much better than Karlsson defensively sure he won the Norris but would put him in ur top 10?

I wouldn’t, but if you’re basing it off of last season he did win the Norris. Obviously Makar is top 5, but if you’re bumping Matthews down for having a bit of a down season then you should bump down Makar for missing 20 games

Adjusted my post. But I wouldn't have Karlsson top 10 overall player for this year. He will regress. But I would probably put him as a top 10 player for his position

And Matthews playing with a hurt wrist for most of the season and still scoring 40 goals makes him a declining player. This guy has small man syndrome.

Man like why are u bringing up matthews that’s a terrible argument like dude wasn’t even the best player on his team last year in fact there were 3 other guys who arguably did better than him. And every single guy on this list was better than matthews last year and u can’t tell me otherwise.

That's nice that you want to say that, but it's clearly not a list based off last year if you're not including the Norris winner. There are a few other defensemen that probably had better years than Makar too like Heiskanen or Morrissey.

Hard to compare dmen with forwards. Guys like Josi, McAvoy, Hedman…probably deserve at least HM mention.

Okay so are u trying to say Makar is not a top 5 player going into this season and Fox isn’t top 10? Makar had 66Pts in 60GP. I think if he didn’t get injured he probably could have had a chance to win the Norris last year and it’s not like he regressed from last season either so

So injuries don't cost Makar anything but you use it exclusively to make Matthews seem less good. You can't see the hypocrisy there can you?

Better hope McDavid stays lucky, a long term injury and your eyes will be opened.
