new law on Zegras : need 4 first and all your family income for the next 3 generations, apparently if I've seen correctly the answer I've received!

Yeah things are beyond ludicrous with that player actually ... Probably a better player than McDavid or Crosby, who knows lol

Wahlberg has the size, Ostlund can really skate and Dish the puck. Wahlberg is a good talent and Verbeek seems to like size.

I'd rather keep Wahlberg for the same reason. For me, ostlund and Wahlberg, while having different skill sets, are both potential 3rd line centers. Think about that for a second- our center core could be Thompson and cozens, followed by one of Krebs/wahlberg/ostlund. And that's me assuming that savoie and kulich are mostly on the wings, and mittelstadt gets moved out.

I was hesitant on adding him because of his size. I just think Kulich is going to be that 3C of the future.

Am thinking Kulich could get comfortable at RW.

Imagine a Future of
Skinner Tage Tuch
Zegras Cozens Quinn
Benson Kulich JJ
Rosen Kozak Rousek
4 lines that can skate, create offense, put puck pressure on teams, and the last 2 lines have decent 200ft games

Think he can play anywhere, just think he is good on the Dot and we really don't have that. I know it's the Prospect Challenge and it will be different. But he won a lot of Faceoffs

Point taken. But he can also take faceoffs while playing wing. That said, how about this if there are no big trades made:

Skinner/Tage/Tuch
JJ/Cozensons/Quinn
Savoie/Benson/Kulich
Rosen/Krebs (Kozak)/Rousek

Looks good, so much coming through the pipeline, they are gonna have choices. Unfortunate that we probably won't get to see some of this talent ever put on the Blue and Gold. Just so much coming and such a young core already.

Absolutely. Gonna be interesting. I'd hazard to guess that the logjam up front gets untenable in 2025/6

Sign Dahlin to 5 years at about $9,000,000, Power to a 3 year bridge at $5,000,000 (just below Dahlin's bridge).
As you both have omitted Olofsson and Mittelstadt allowing the Sabres to sign Quinn, Peterka, Kulich, Benson, Savoie to contracts under $6,000,000 (well below Cozen's and Thompson's) providing they perform well and the cap increases as is projected ($30,000,000 for the five of them).
I would imagine if they want to play here (as Crosby did in Pittsburgh and Stamkos did in Tampa) and take Buffalo friendly contracts I could be possible to keep everyone.
Skinnner's contract expiring in 4 years, one year after Tuch's may be the glitch in staying under the cap.
It would be nice if the next CBA allowed teams to include current contracts to determine future AVV.
For example when Thompson and Cozens were extended, calculate the AVV by adding the new contract total value to the current year then dividing by the total years of both contracts lowering the future AVV.

Well I traded Savoie in this, so he won't matter. Tuch is the big one to me. We aren't exactly using his prime years wisely yet. If Levi can't handle the load and the other 2 suck we are possibly wasting another year of his sweet deal with his production. Think Skinner can be bought out after that 3rd before the 4th year at a reasonable cost. Or might have to pay to get rid of him depending on how he is doing. Sabres still have Poltapov Nadeau, Neuchev, Miedema, Novikov, Strbak, McCarthy to name a few with ELC's that can be possibly be added to the roster in 2-3-4 years. It should help, think it really depends how much the cap goes up in the next 3 to 5 years.
