I really don't understand people putting Jonatan Berggren in the lineup. He's going to start in Grand Rapids

It'd be lowkey hilarious if Lalonde scratched Määttä only to play frickin Ben Chiarot in the top 4 regularly.

Seems like a waste of a good player then, unless Yzerman is looking to tank another year (doubt it though). Berggren looks more than ready to be an asset in Detroit's top 9.
Detroit will most likely be more competitive with Berggren in the lineup ahead of someone like Fischer.

This is the same guy wants to send Raymond down. Wouldn't consider his opinion.

I wouldn't say that it's the best idea, but I also think that it's likely that Chiarot will be in the top-4 to start the year.

Lines
DeBrincat-Larkin-Perron
Fabbri- Compher-Raymond
Rasmussen-Copp-Sprong
Kostin-Veleno-Fischer

- Jonatan Berggren has a two way contract
- You need some heavy players in the lineup that do different things like forecheck, hit and can penalty kill
- Soderblom could also make it instead
- Injuries happen so will be called up at some point anyways

As much as Wings fans like to hate on GhostGM92, he just posted I think the closest to realistic forward lines from the lot.

Cat-Larkin-Perron
Fabbri-Compher-Raymond
Rasmussen-Copp-Kostin/Fischer
Berggren-Veleno-Sprong

Not necessarily the lines I would roll with, and we know Lalonde will blender them anyways, but can see this being the starting point based off what has come out of camp.

Fischer is a borderline 13th forward. They are better off letting Berggren play in the NHL rather than wasting a year in the minors where he doesn’t belong. Bad asset management.

Wings fans like to dunk on him because he makes ACGM's where he trades guys like Raymond for Trenin and has stated before that Raymond should play in the AHL. I think it's warranted tbh

He thinks trading one of Detroit's best young forwards for 4th line grinders will bring the team a cup. Gotta be Daryl Sutters alt account

Yakov Trenin is a much better all around player than Lucas Raymond but I don't think I've ever traded them one for one. Normally I use Raymond in trades to get a player like Trevor Zegras. I don't think you actually watch the Red Wings either because if you did you would understand how bad Raymond was last season. He's one of the worst defensive players in the league and one of the softest. Also Jonatan Berggren is a small skilled player and it doesn't make sense to have him on the fourth line. And I don't see him playing in the top six. Red Wings have so much depth on the wing and Michael Rasmussen and Klim Kostin bring physicality and are heavy players. You can't have all your wingers small and soft. You need balance and Jonatan Berggren is probably the second most overrated player behind Lucas Raymond at this point.

Also Fischer will probably play on the penalty kill and fills a different role. It's not just about points, you need players that do different things.

Yakov Trenin has great hands and is a pretty physical winger with grit. I don't like wingers that are soft like Lucas Raymond. Here is a sickk highlight goal Trenin scored against the Red Wings

Dude, are you off a perc 30? Trenin is a 4th line winger who's capped out at 20 points a season. Where in gods green earth is that better than Raymond, a dude who scored 57 in his rookie season? He had a sophomore slump, as a lot of rookies do. But he will be 3x the player Trenin is in his prime.

Your fetish for random 4th line grinders is so weird.

Yakov Trenin has played on the third line on good Nashville teams and produced well in a checking role. If he was given more ice time and was given a bigger role he would put up more points. You don't know hockey so just stop

Yakov Trenin has five goals in ten playoff games but he's just a fourth line grinder lol

It's evident how much YOU don't know hockey by how much your own fanbase clowns on you on this website. Trading blue chip young players for useless 4th liners is crazy.
