Definitely yes on the Washington trade.

Not sure about the others. I think Grier wants to keep Benning around as a role model and building block. Long, cheap contract, decent dman.

Duclair and Barabanov are TDL trade chips. If they have good seasons you will be selling very low right now. Olausson and Hirvonen don't look they will turn into anything worth while. So you essentially gave away Duclair and Benning away for a 3rd. I would say easy no on all trades.

But from a value standpoint, I’m down. I’m not confident Oskar turns into anything at the NHL level. Duclair could be fun if we had some more LTIR space to work with.

For sure, if he hits form again then it's probably well worth it. I'm hoping we won't be in a position this season where we have that kind of LTIR space to use however....if you know what I mean!?!

I highly doubt the Caps will be in a position to give up their first at the deadline... even if we are pushing for a playoff spot.
