If thats all it takes for someone to take joseph, it would have been done by now. Boucher, with his injuries over the past few years is entering nick robertson territory. Until he proves he can stay healthy and produce, hes probably worth just a 3rd

You're absolutely right. I'm excited as a Sens fan to see what Boucher can become in a few years, but as of right now he would just never retrieve a 1st round pick on his own in a trade from any team. I also don't believe Dorion thinks it's worth giving Boucher up just yet, which is also why this deal with this base hasn't been done yet with a team like the Yotes or Hawks.

I don't like this argument, we have no idea if it would or not, there's way too many informations we don't have access to. The deadline to get compliant is not yet so we'll see

Agreed on Boucher's value though, I also think he's worth a 3rd. Some NHL teams might value him more though because of the abrasive skillset

Yzerman is known for taking on rehabilitation projects (see Fabbri, Perlini, and even Vrána) so i wouldn't put it past him to take a flyer on Boucher. If it works out he would fit in with what Detroit needs in the future. You might need to add a mid round pick though cover the length of Joseph's contract.

I'd bet a good amount that Joseph won't be considered a cap dump anymore in the near future (except a few posters on CF who will still try to push the narrative lol)
