Lmao Jaycob Megna had nearly an identical chart as Brannstrom. Are you telling me he's worth a 2nd as well?
You're relying too much on "advanced stats" with zero real world context to evaluate players
How the hell are advanced stats not part of the "real world" lol
Also, the eye test is pretty real too
ok... so where to begin?
- Jaycob Megna is 7 years older...
- Megna played 73% of his ES shifts with the Norris winner that almost scored as much as McDavid at ES...
- Brannstrom has played more games in the NHL than Megna did and will eclipse his totals when all is said and done
- Megna is good defensively, I wouldn't say the opposite. Don't act like he's a nobody, he was the partner of the Norris winner
- Another huge difference is production. Brannstrom has averaged 24 pts per 82 games since 2020-21 (he was 21 y/o). Megna has an average of 14 pts per 82 games and has started playing at 25-26 y/o
- Despite being 30, Megna had a very short history of success for his age but still returned a 4th.
- You're comparing their JFresh charts I am guessing which is an average of the last 3 seasons. Brannstrom "broke out" only last season, if you only look at his 23 y/o season, it's better than Megna, like I showed in the table
Edit : oh and almost forgot! The most important factor that dictates trade value... Megna is UFA-to-be, Brannstrom is still cost controlled...
Glad I was able to help
