If I'm SJS, I'd rather keep the 2nd.

Brannstrom doesn't get a Top 40 pick, and Pinto doesn't sign for that price.

Sharks get a better D prospect than Brannstrom with that pick

Sharks have no need for Brannstrom and even if they did your cap issues and lack of options mean they play hardball and get him for next to nothing.

And let me guess, he'd do better than this in his 23 y/o season? lol

Brannstrom is a bottom pairing Dman, No way is he returning no top 40 pick.

And FYI Josh Norris is still out, He may not return anytime soon with his shoulder injury.

Lmao Jaycob Megna had nearly an identical chart as Brannstrom. Are you telling me he's worth a 2nd as well?
You're relying too much on "advanced stats" with zero real world context to evaluate players

How the hell are advanced stats not part of the "real world" lol

Also, the eye test is pretty real too

ok... so where to begin?

- Jaycob Megna is 7 years older...

- Megna played 73% of his ES shifts with the Norris winner that almost scored as much as McDavid at ES...

- Brannstrom has played more games in the NHL than Megna did and will eclipse his totals when all is said and done

- Megna is good defensively, I wouldn't say the opposite. Don't act like he's a nobody, he was the partner of the Norris winner

- Another huge difference is production. Brannstrom has averaged 24 pts per 82 games since 2020-21 (he was 21 y/o). Megna has an average of 14 pts per 82 games and has started playing at 25-26 y/o

- Despite being 30, Megna had a very short history of success for his age but still returned a 4th.

- You're comparing their JFresh charts I am guessing which is an average of the last 3 seasons. Brannstrom "broke out" only last season, if you only look at his 23 y/o season, it's better than Megna, like I showed in the table

Edit : oh and almost forgot! The most important factor that dictates trade value... Megna is UFA-to-be, Brannstrom is still cost controlled...

Glad I was able to help

Thanks for elaborating on my point. I know that Brannstrom is better than Megna, but all you posted was that chart for your argument so I responded with a very mid player who had nearly an identical one. That was point

I like Bransstrom, just not for even close to that price

Well, I can't post all the info in every post, I did not you to come up with something as ridiculous as "Are you telling me he's worth a 2nd as well?", so I gave you a lot of reasons why in the subsequent post

The chart I initially provided is self-explanatory, when you're 92 percentile in xGA and 91 percentile in xGF it's because you're vastly outplaying your role. A 2nd round pick has very little to chance to outplay that by his 23 y/o season. Do you need to see probably of success too?

It doesn't mean you should WANT to make that deal, but I was arguing with "Sharks get a better D prospect than Brannstrom with that pick", which is very unlikely ITR
