Rumour is the Flyers are asking for a 1st or Boucher to take on Joseph. Yzerman see’s an opportunity to recoup the 1st and decide to throw in former 1st veleno(who likely have no future here with all the prospects coming) who Joseph will replace and throw in a 3rd to further entice the sens

Yzerman can afford to eat salary if he decides to move Joseph at a later date

there is a less than 0% chance GMPD sends a 1st back to Detroit.

He'd probably send a 1st to Philly before Detroit.

So, after a stellar pre-season (which everyone knows is the highest quality of hockey), the league went from a 1st to dump him, to him not being a major capdump?

Nope lol that’s why he’s yzerman ... seriously though I wouldn’t deal a 1st to get rid of Joseph but sens might have no choice really ****ed themselves by adding tarasenko at 5 mill . Didn’t need him . I’d personally rather suck it up and just deal kubalik now and throw in sokolov on the 3rd line with Grieg and pinto.

If they decide they have no choice but to move a 1st to get rid of Joseph why wouldn’t Yzerman throw in a 3rd and say veleno to get the 1st back? And as bad as it would look for sens if the move is that or Joseph and a 1st for futures or a no name ahl player wouldn’t you have to get the 3rd and veleno?

Would definitely look at the debrincat deal differently personally cause I wasn’t a huge fan of the deal cause can’t see us winning squat next 4 yrs with him and I can definetly see a world where bruins miss the playoffs with no top 2 centres and those 2 picks are top 16 or a bruins unprotected lottery pick in 2025

No, it's been 2 pre-season games!

But seriously, what else could I offer now to change people's minds? I have known and seen Joseph play since 2016, it's not like the top skating forward with elite pk ability was something new. However, he has a new demeanor and determination and he has clearly the intention to make it known. He's hungry

The thing is he has never been what you called a "major cap dump", it's only fans and medias speculation that does that. The Flyers (or any other team) have the right to ask anything they want (they could even ask Jake Sanderson in return) but it only becomes concrete in the real world IF and ONLY IF Dorion accepts to pay that price.

Thankfully the ask is high so Dorion won't make the mistake to trade Joseph. He's more needed on the Sens than people think
