The Hawks have moved on from PK, I suggest you accept that and do the same.

Why would the Hawks trade anything for a mediocre LH d-man/prospect, it is literally the deepest position in their prospect pool.

The last thing the Hawks are trading 2 prospects for is an undersized LD who was less than impressive in his first NHL season. Hawks actually like Ralston's game. And Kaner isn't coming back to Chicago until he signs a one day contract to retire as a Hawk.

I think, in a few years, IF CHI is ready, IF Kane is still playing in the NHL and is a free agent, IF they have room for him and think he fills a need, and IF he is willing to take a huge discounted one year deal, they could consider bringing him in on a "one last ride with the new kids" type of thing. But, yeah, in all likelihood, the only way he signs with CHI again is a one day contract to retire as a Blackhawk.
