TRADE TIME FOR A 3C!

Created by: Arom5477
Team: 2017-18 Pittsburgh Penguins
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 1, 2017
Published: Jul. 1, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Sam Bennett Trade:

-Horqvist has been deligated to a bottom six role, which I am not thrilled with. But, that goes to show the depth of the team.

-Sam Bennett had a rough year at 3C. He's not exactly tracking in the direction CGY wants.

-But this trade fulfills the needs of both teams. PIT needs a 3C. CGY needs a first line RW.

-I also believe the picks are fair. We give a first for taking a younger player with a high upside. We get a first for giving a player that puts up a lot of points and goals.

Jokinen signing:

-He's got a bad rap, but I think he'd be serviceable next to Malkin where he has proven success. If not, he's only signed to a one year deal. No real worry there.

Roster Decisions:

- Sprong and ZAR, I believe, will follow the footsteps of Jake Guentzel. Spend half the season in the AHL, then when injuries start piling up bring them up and let them stay.

Well you're probably the only one who does.
No chance CGY does this. Hornqvist has 1 year till UFA. Bennett is under team control, only just completed his 2nd season, and then you also want to swap 1s's...bad all around

No GM in the league is trading a you a former top 5 pick (3 years removed) for an aging winger rental. He's 21, I'm sure they have enough patience to give him another few years, which will come cheap (also cheaper in comparison to Hornqvist), especially when the entire team had a down year. Teams arent just going to bend over and take Pit's garbage and help them out just because they're the penguins. This trade does nothing to help the Flames out. You even swap what is going to be a bottom 25 pick in the draft, for a pick that potentially is top 15 in the next one. Maybe if Calgary doesnt give up a first at all, is this trade close.

I'm a Pens fan too, but there's no way to Flames accept your trade. You're far from what they would ask for Bennet. Unfortunately, the guys here are right.

And Dumo's salary is probably a bit low. He offensive production is almost nothing, but his defensive role is huge on Pens scheme. He's the only "stay at home" d-man on our roster and his playoffs was terrific! I think he'll receive about 4M.
