Calgary passes. It'll take at least a 2nd round pick or a player/prospect worth a 2nd which Howard is not. If Howard was a little bigger Calgary might consider it but they already have too many left shot wingers especially smallish ones around 5'10 180.

Howard or another prospect + a 3rd might work because Calgary would free up close to 2 million in cap space without having to go into LTIR.

JBB laughs in Conroy's face. If TB thought they needed a goalie they would have claimed the better Stalock

It's a good thing you aren't a GM. If you actually think Stalock is better than Vladar you'd have your team in last place in no time.

Alex Stalock: .908 sv% in 27 games with a pitiful Chicago defense in front of him.
Dan Vladar: .894 sv% in 27 games with a decent Calgary defense in front of him.

Between paying for Vladar and claiming Stalock, claiming Stalock is a better option for a team needing a goalie.

He nailed it Stalock would have been a far better option for TB especially at that ridiculous cost you're asking glad I'm smarter and know 1000x's more about hockey thn you EVER WILL!

LOL w/e. I'd take the much younger much bigger quicker more athletic player who had decent stats last year in spite of not being used correctly by coach Sutter on an under achieving team.

Interesting you completely ignored GAA and win/loss records. 2.83 14-6-5 for Vladar vs 3.01 9-15-2 for Stalock

If the lightning were worried about the goaltending they would have claimed Jones from Toronto on waivers. Maybe Tomkins learned a few things in Sweden and will work out. Alnefelt looks like he might turn into something so giving him some NHL time might make some sense too. Failing that even with bad goaltending the Lightning are still likely a playoff team.

Why? I’d say stats from two years ago aren’t as important as ones from a year ago. But I’ll humor you: Stalock played 1 NHL game in which he had a .786, while Vladar sported a slightly better .906 across 23 games. Vladar’s best year was not as good as Stalock’s last year, he’s the better option for a team that’s looking to contend. If we were referencing a team like San Jose or Chicago that isn’t looking to win this year, Vladar might be a better pick because he’s younger with room to grow, but a team like Tampa can’t wait on him to improve, especially if a better goalie (Stalock) is available.

He was playing for a team that absolutely sucked wow he had a better w/l record on a team that 34 more or 157% of Chicago's total. But go ahead sell your utter 💩and sell it as gold

Have you ever watched these two play? I hear what you are saying about stats, but there are lies, damn lies and statistics. Stalock is a fine third string goalie to recall from the AHL in case of injury. Vladar is a solid backup, with potential for more. He is the more solid positionally and athletically. Stalock is another Blackwood level goalie, whereas Vladar is already ahead of him talent wise with room for more like UPL in BUF.

Yes I have. I disagree with your talent evaluation. TB also doesn't have the cap space for 2.2 mill cap hit and sure as hell aren't giving up their best young foward prospect to do this .

The cap hit is for sure the biggest hurdle in the short term.... and Howard is probably their best prospect, which equals one of their biggest trade chips for a team in won- now mode. The question is can they hold their own till Vas gets back? Or do they need to figure out how to add a goalie in the mean time? I guess we have to wait and see on that.

As for the talent evaluation I can live with agree to disagree.
