I don't imagine Garlands the kind of player Verbeek wants, and there's a few very good RWs on expiring deals this year we could target.

He’s actually the type of player Verbeek likes. Gritty, “dirty” with his stick, goes to the net. He lengthens the lineup pretty well.

I hope for the Ducks’ sake Verbeek isn’t signing a “star” UFA. They just don’t work out very well because the contract length is always too long. I think a trade is more likely and you can add a roster player to that to help reduce the numbers in the offseason.

Probably a big two-way forward with less term.

This package probably gets it done tbh

Cap relief

Yeah that's what I heard, actually I heard teams are asking for a sweetner. Contenders can't afford him and lottery teams don't care about being good.

What about Garland and Juulsen for Lyubushkin. Canucks get bottom pair RD and cap relief.

That top nine looks pretty solid (and fun to watch) compared to what we have been forced to bear witness to the past few years. With Rico and Silf off the books after this season, leaves room for Lundy to fill the 3C spot. I actually really like this idea. and like you said, in three years we have half the roster coming off the books with lots of extensions due so it doesnt really cap strap us at all.
