Carlson isn't a fit playstyle-wise and age-wise

Out of the older core players the caps have (Ovi Backstrom Oshie Wilson Carlson Kuznetsov), I think Carlson and Kuznetsov are the most likely to be moved (Kuzy more so obviously). Moving both of them could open up a ton of much needed roster flexibility. I wish they’d consider moving Carlson.

Yeah Carlson will get u a good return. As for Kuzy, even 50% retained we saw Hayes go for almost nothing so not sure who would be interested

Vancouver won't give that for Carlson as he's not a fit for them. You can get better from a team that needs him. If Washington agrees to retain half and take Klingberg back in a trade, the Maple Leafs would give more.

It may be a homer belief but I really think Kuznetsov is better than Hayes and would still get some sort of return with some retention. I don’t know though man. He has the skill but just doesn’t look motivated right now.
