The Covid drafts weren’t any different… you actually saw more interactions with the GM and I personally prefer that to having Carey price take stage and forget who they picked.

As for the tape and jerseys it was purely to protect the product which is the players. Then allow them to step up and rebel bring more hype to players and building a following that’s built on “choice” rather than keeping up with the Jones’ of fake support and marketing

No L’s are being had..

No L’s are being had..

Have you ever watched an NBA or NFL draft before? You literally have Roger Goodell calling up names for 3 hours straight. There’s nothing going on.. it’s so boring. There’s no draft table there’s nothing just a player room. And for the players you actually need to be invited to be there, if you aren’t you watch the draft by TV at home.. Ain’t no way it’s going to work. You can’t compare the covid draft with this

Going to the same draft style that the other major sporting leagues have used for year seems like a good way to grow the same way they do.. Not really an L at all, probably gives the league opportunities to make more money with better venues and better presentation. Really bad take on that. The fact you needed to just slide the tape in there is your own gripe 99% don't care either way, if you can't grasp that the league is protecting it's assets from people exactly like the people up in arms about everything then no one can help ypu.

As opposed to the wall to wall action that is currently happening at the NHL draft?

There are many reasons the NHL is lagging behind other major sports, the centralization (or not) of the draft is not even in the top 67 reasons.

The truth is we can’t even compete with the MLS😂. Acting like the other big leagues won’t change anything

Those sports are bigger globally, resonate with more markets, resonate with the diversity of North America more, big market teams are actually big markets, even Canadian teams in the NHL, walk down the street in that city and ask 1000 people about the local NHL team, mabye 60% on Toronto? 40% Edmonton? 25% Calgary? It's a small market sport playing in North America, it's never going to be easy, fans should adjust their expectations on that stuff. Smaller capacity stadiums, better integrated into the city, lower revenue, bigger margins

So you’re saying there will be no appearance on tv from the GMs? Gary is just going to name off players 1 after another? No split screen or cut to the office at MSG for Drury to say” with our 2024th 1st we selected Mike Hawk” and then followed by a 2 mins segment about the player from analysts like they did in Covid?

Most hockey fans don't care about all that other stuff and just want to watch hockey. The draft isn't going to change that much for the fans, it's going to change more for the people working it.
