If teams can't have him for a 1st + good prospect + 5-6M roster player (probably an older 2nd forward or 2nd pairing defender) + a cap dump then they are probably not risking it. In other words, teams would be trying to acquire him at a massive discount.

Possibly even less, he's a pending FA, no team is breaking the bank for a rental, no matter how skilled. A trade would have to include re-signing stipulations.

It’s almost as useless as a pursuit as trading McJesus 🤦🏻. Neither will ever happen, Mitch has a full NMC

Most teams interested have cap issues and/or already someone filling a Mitch role on the team. Teams that are rebuilding but feel like they are a guy like Mitch from taking the step from rebuild to contender might. But that would be prospects that hasn't hit the full time nhl yet. But Mitch would be forced to wave for them, which I don't think will happen. So long answers but I do not see a huge market for Mitch. As for package others are better than me giving details around that. But Similar to what Eichel got perhaps 🤔?

Next year he would be, so I guess it depends on when the trade happens. If it's next year then I don't think anyone bothers renting Marner unless there's 50% retention lol, so more than likely they would need to have at least discussed with him an extension.

I think it would have to be some sort of similar dynamic D-man.

Just can't see the leafs going the picks/prospects route unless the team is on the outside of the playoffs
