I'd do that in a heartbeat if I'm NJD and I can ship off vitek somewhere else for a 2nd/3rd

Definitely thought I’d get pushback on this one. I’d put Stillman high on NJD prospect list only because he seems like a “playoff player”.

Meh, imo he'll never be more than a 4th line grinder/energy guy. With us projected to be a consistent contender I expect us to be able to keep cycling ring chasing veterans like Nosek and Lazar rn with our other more depth prospects

He's only higher up on our list of prospects because alot of our better ones have graduated to the NHL or have been shipped off to acquire better players (ie: Meier). Honestly he's got a good motor on him and he does work his ass off, but he probably projects to be a good bottom 6 option now. The Devils win that trade hands down

The market for goalies is so unpredictable I always aim lower with trade pieces. I still have a hard time thinking the Bruins receive a 1st in any Ullmark trade.

They wouldnt, there are very few goalies that would command a 1st in any trade and Ullmark isnt one of them despite his last 2 seasons

Stillman is fringe at best, and the existence of "playoff players" is overstated. He has motor, but lacks the skill to use it at the NHL level.

He is not higher up on our prospect list. In fact, I would not have him in our top 10.

This is very hard for Ottawa, the package is good and Carlo is also a big need. Lysell and the 2nd is not as needed but what makes the value fair... The thing is they also have Ridly Greig and Shane Pinto so a Stutzle-Greig-Pinto center line would also be excellent. On the other hand, Norris is part of the core and one of Brady's best friends... He's the most natural goal scorer on the Sens, and there's several guys who can score 35+ goals on any given season. Chabot could really use a Carlo partner, would help him get his game to the next level and RHD is not a position of strength for Ottawa (a LHD has to play RD)

Norris is a bit unknown for most hockey fans but before last season, he scored 47 goals in his last 91 games, 12th GPG in the NHL during that long stretch. He did that at 21-22 y/o while facing top competition every night and having quite good defensive metrics

So many arguments both sides, very hard to decide. I'd look if there was a way to get Carlo without Norris going the other way but I guess the only reason for Boston to move Carlo would be to get a Top C

Edit : by the way, since 2021-22, when Norris was 22 y/o, only these guys have a best GPG than him :

Matthews, Pastrnak, Draisaitl, McDavid, Ovechkin, Rantanen, Kaprizov, Kreider, Hughes, MacKinnon, Robertson, Thompson, Point...

Great analysis, and the exact reason why I’d want Boston to target him. Injuries have kept him in the dark but he is a bonafide 1C on all 32 teams.
