That first rounder is likely top ten unless this trade happened tomorrow

I’m not gonna lie I actually didn’t know he hadn’t played yet this year. Very strange because he looked okay in preseason and was listed for the bears opening night roster.

I also wouldn’t be upset if it was a better prospect than Suzdalev to make this trade work.

I think Calgary would want Cristall. They probably retain half on Lindholm too.

I watched Suzdalev a lot last year, he’s good. My guess is that they’d want Cristall though. Especially because Iginla is now in management. He will have seen a lot of Cristall, teammates with his son.

Cristall would be tough to part with but a guaranteed star like Lindholm is probably worth that price especially if they can get him signed to a reasonable extension.

He would be a good fit on Washington for sure. The cap going up would make signing him significantly easier.

I wonder if they would take Kuzy as the cap dump? He could at least fill a void for them next year, I don't really value him as much. Is he still wanting a trade from Washington?

Personally I'd want value for Kuznetsov especially with retention. Still wouldn't consider him a "cap dump" at this point because he can play 1C or 2C and contribute on the power play. I wouldn't expect much value back for him without retention though.

Hard pass by Caps. Waaaay too much for a 2C that will cost way too much to keep.

I really dont think lindholm is a good fit. If they move for anyone from CGY the defenseman are much more appealing

I think he's a fit if they can extend him at a reasonable number. We could use another forward who can finish and simultaneously could use another center in the top 6 who is more effective offensively. If we could get someone like Hanifin with an extension or Andersson and send Jensen the other way, I'd be very interested. I still think a move needs to be made up front to be competitive.

IDK I just feel like Lindholm has never been that effective without playing with Tkachuk and Gaudreau. All of the reporting was that he was asking for ~70m$ total which would bring his extension to the high 9's ... really don't like that and if you're going to overpay for a forward just give Nylander the 80m$ he wants

Agree with the other Caps fans here. Not big on Lindholm and I think the offer as is would be the very max I'd be willing to pay. And even that seems like the methodology of making a trade just to make a trade.

Also, hard pass on adding Cristall.

Fair enough. High 9's is way too much to pay for him, I agree. Maybe not the route they should be going.
