How did the Blackhawks, who tried to cover up a sexual assault from one of their coaches, get away with a little fine for an enormous franchise that has been around for 85plus years, but then a small franchise in Canadas capital city has to forfeit a potential francise player for making a trade that that involved a player that has a NTC. You can't make this stuff up.

My tinfoil hat theory is that this was welcomed by Andlauer and the new management team as a way to get Dorion out. Once the dust clears after his firing they will appeal and the NHL will reduce the penalty to a lower pick.

You’re so incorrect, listen to the presser and how candid Andlauer is; doesn’t sound like a guy who wants to sweep this under the rug and get a appeal.

Hopefully, and tbh your theory sounds about true.

Professional sports leagues are not rigged/against your favorite team. Humans can’t keep secrets, multiple layered organizations do not keep secrets.

The devils lost a 1st for a legal deal that was then retroactively made illegal
The yotes lost a 1st for illegally testing prospects.

If I was to bet, I'd say he knew what was going on before dropping a billion dollars. It's a bad look to clean house without a reason.

The Chicago owners should have been kicked out of the league.

But boo hoo about losing a draft pick

How about Ottawa stinking as a reason?

Most new owners clean house. Put the tinfoil away

Ottawa will get the punishment reduced before the draft. Very similar way New Jersey got fined 3 million and forfeited a first and third if I remember correctly for illegal contract. Then in came new ownership just like in Ottawa and fine got cut in half and New Jersey was awarded the last pick in the first round. Betting same happens to Ottawa. lost out on the lottery but this team shouldn’t complain about that the expectations should have on the team is to play themselves out of the lottery anyway.

He literally, and I quote (LIVE):

“I don’t know why I inherited this issue.”

“Maybe the NHL took this long to punish the Sens, to ensure the highest sale point for the team…”

I don’t think many will top NJD from late Lou era…

The Mogilny rule
The trapezoid rule
The Kovalchuk penalty (for a legal contract)
The Kovalchuk recapture penalty

(Not to mention once we shipped Lou to Toronto, they banned pick compensation for GMs)

From a ducks fan, what a joke.

The punishment should be a 3rd-4th stripped and Vegas and Anaheim should get a compensatory 3rd round pick at the end of the round.

The Blackhawks shouldn’t have Bedard.

Both of these rulings have now screwed the Ducks. We should have Bedard and a mid round pick.

I feel for Sens fans, you guys got screwed over.
