Description

Unlikely Hedman ever moves anywhere, but if signing Stamkos becomes priority, I suppose one could invent a scenario where he could be moved. Vilen is NJD best defensive prospect outside the big three (Hughes, Nemec, and Casey) and Hameenaho was our top 2023 pick who has been lighting up Liiga as 18-year old. And pick would be somewhere in 20s.

Other than restating the low probability of a Hedman move (which I agree), what are your thoughts?

By removing Hedman from Atlantic division, you ought to be happy with this deal.

The Devils would need to start with Nemec, Casey, and Stillman. I think that would get the bolts attention.

I'm not convinced Hedman is THAT GUY any longer. Looks to me like he's declined a fair bit the last season and a half. I wonder if the ask / counter wouldn't be fairly astronomical should Tampa entertain the thought of trading him, and realistically there should be a handful of teams willing to beat your suggested return for Hedman if it came to that.

I'd steer clear if it were up to me but it is an interesting thought nonetheless.

I don't really care about the PWHL, the Rock and the Argos... And the Raptors and Jays continue to find way of disappointing and the Leafs could actually do something this year... So trading Hedman to NJD will be nixed by the Leafs on the count of being unfair towards them and the rest of the league

Man ngl I wouldn't do this but there is SOME value here, especially with Hedman's age and him no longer being the #1 dude (Sergachev and his turnovers have taken that spot)

However, I'm guessing at his next contract negotiations we get another NHL edition of Swedish Loyalty and have him sign a team friendly deal, probably to help out younger guys like Thompson or Roman Schmidt, and ends up retiring here.

Somehow they got worst, lost Toff and replaced him with Clarke OOF. They are still gonna get bodied in the playoff if they refuse to be more physical SPEED ISNT EVERYTHING.

I added a guy who is 6'6" 229 lbs to a team that is 6'2" 198 lbs on average...

And your complaint is about too much speed?
