I'd consider Coyle for a 3rd, but I don't think NSH needs him with Novak, O'Reilly, Sissons and Glass. We need a true #1C.

And what would Coyle bring to NSH that our current C's don't provide? If there's an answer other than "nothing" then maybe NSH would consider parting with an asset or two, but I don't see the need.

The ironic part is that this season, outsiders were saying Bs fall off. Now they haven't at all and cap will be on their side next year. Good looking squad.

Since the '21-'22 season Coyle among centers ranks:

Goals - 76th
Assist - 62nd
Points - 66th
FO% - 61st

He's basically an low end 2C and a elite #3C that plays a two-way game and all situations. He's currently the 51st highest paid center in the NHL, so slightly overpaid relative to his rankings, He has positive value.

Those numbers suggest he's a High end 3C

Not an elite 3C lmao what.

First of all thats cumulative, so that doesnt account for anyone who has entered the league within the past 2 seasons.

Second, his cap hit isnt the 70th highest for forwards lol, its very high. Hes much closer to 90th for centers. Here are guys close to him who are better:

Karlsson
Lundell
Chytil
Trochek
Danault
Perfetti
Duchene
Frost
Pinto
O'Reilly
McTavish
Mittlestadt
Lowry
Hartman
Jenner
Bordeleu
Novak
Paul
Greig
Kuznetzov
Colton
Copp
D. Strome
Pageau
Sharangovich
Johansen
Staal
Gourde
Kotkaniemi
K. Johnson
Backstrom
Hayes
Dowd
Henrique
Reichel
Lundestrom
Rossi

Thats 36, starting from 53 on my list to 89.

And his defense is very average. That paired with his high AAV with term makes him useless

Also for the record, elite 3Cs are top 50 or so centers who are a teams 3rd best center. The 65th best center in the NHL isnt an elite 3C, thats just a weird way of thinking about it

SO devils ruin their cap space by getting a 5m goalies, making it harder to resign Toff,Mercer etc and maybe get new players. ENOUGH OF THE goalie trades.

Well we'd have to define the difference between a high-end 3C and and elite 3C

I couldn't care less about your personal list that's based on nothing but your preferences LOL. It is funny you have JGP on this list consider he's basically Charlie Coyle

Since '21-'22 Season
JGP - 0.53 P/GP
Coyle - 0.55 P/GP

Some other names you have on here

Backstrom - 0.56 P/GP
Greig - 0.55 P/GP
Kotkaniemi - 0.53 P/GP
Sharangovich - 0.49 P/GP
K. Johnson - 0.48 P/GP
J. Staal - 0.44 P/GP
Colton - 0.44 P/GP
E. Staal - 0.40 P/GP
Rossi - 0.25 P/GP

With that said, I'm out. I can already tell talking with you is going to be a waste of time and will just turn into a pissing match. You're free to reply, but I won't see it

cheers

Well I can now take Backy off this list lol.

Pageau and Coyle are super close, but p/g isnt the only factor used!

Greig has dominated to start the season once he got a real role, Kotkaniemi too. Sharagovich, KJ both struggling. Rossi breaking out Jordan Staal defintely better and Eric Staal isnt, i messed up on that one idk how i didnt realised i still even had him up there.

Lets just say all those guys are worse tho. Thats still over 75 centers better! ly!
