Is there a way out for Huberdeau?

Buy out isn't an option... Calgary is going to have to retain to move him, but he is in the first year of an 8 year deal.

He hasn't been good as a Flame. It's been over 90 games by now.

There were a lot of excuses made for him last year. This year was supposed to be different. It looks worse than last year.

He better get going. If not, he might find himself in the pressbox. The team sure didn't miss him in the 3rd. Played their best period of the year.

Yeah, but is any team willing to take on an $8.5M or $7.5M Huberdeau through 37 hoping that he regains his form and what would that return look like for Calgary? Or is it just whoever wants him at this point?

3 or 4 of their most complete games in the past couple weeks. No need to change anything. Get Mangiapane back, drop Greer from the line up for a few and get rolling. If Huberdeau takes getting benched the right way you’ll see it next game, if he doesn’t then you adjust from there.

It’s the worst contract in the league. They’re stuck with him.

You know I love and respect you Ledge, but thats a very unhelpful post

I bet you say leave everything as much as possible, so fine swap Sharangovich & Coleman, but Coleman is better and was the one who scored last night when on the ice with Zary & Kadri

Also, Sharangovich has only connected on a goal with Zary & Kadry once and it was the empty netter last night. So that’s my reasoning as to why Coleman should the RW

Finally, Huberdeau was benched the entire 3rd period and needs to be sent a message. I’d like to see him play with Ruzicka and Duehr anyways, so why not give that a try and Lindholm hasn’t been what he needs to be either, so call it a demotion or whatever, but Kadri is the go too guy right now

All I’m really doing is demoting Huberdeau to see what he’s like with Ruzicka & Duehr and swapping Coleman & Sharangovich

The solution or alternative for Huberdeau is to put him back with Backlund and to consider acquiring Duclair and/or Reinhart. We’re too invested in him, so we gotta try and make a better environment for him somehow

He needs to be put back with Backlund with either Mangiapane, Dube or Pospisil at RW

Better yet, look to acquire Anthony Duclair and/or Sam Reinhart

We could unload him if we had too, but it’d be ugly, so I’m for investing even more by bringing in familiar guys to get him going again

They've already put him on national blast by benching him, you let him respond before taking further steps.
