Feel like you'd have to include someone like Power and probably a higher prospect over Luukkonen and Peterka...

Truly don't know what McDavid's value would even be.

I'd argue this is too much for 2 years of mcd. Oilers should wait til he's able to negotiate an extension with teams to get the crazy return everyone thinks about in a McDavid trade

Totally fair, I mean he may be untradable in the oilers eyes, but if he asks to be traded....

You cannot "buy" McDavid on the market. He has to pick his future team, waive MTC and sign extension. Then Oilers have too be compensated enough.
So in Buffalo case it won't be Power, Dahlin, Tuch, Thompson, Levi, Quinn, Peterka, Samuelsson available, since McDavid is going to choose stacked team, right ?

I guess Cozens will be included, because of postion and for cap reason. Then you add western canadian connection like Krebs, Benson, Savoie and 2x 1st.

Like there is also Ostlund, Rosen, Kisakov, Poltapov to choose from. I just went with "western canada" path.

Nah, Kulich has to be included in my eyes Heart Eyes Cozens, Kulich, & Savoie would be an excellent trio to build a package around (assuming no one is offering a young top pairing RD, of course). Buffalo is probably the only team that can part ways with the type and number of pieces necessary while still being able to both compete now & claim they have a bright future. Maybe Montreal.

Then EDM could use Drai to bolster the D and use any extra picks acquired to upgrade at G.

Why would Cozens be available & not Peterka ???
That makes no sense from the Sabres perspective

We’d make Peterka a part of a package to get McDavid in a heartbeat- he’s not even close to untouchable

Right now Sabres C`s for the future are Tage, Cozens, Mittelstadt. So brining McDavid would put him at 1C, so Cozens would have to be moved to wing. But McDavid has 12 mil cap hit, so big cap hit has to be gone first, it cant be Skinner, so I included Cozens, and that's why didn't "protect" him.

As for package, it trully does not matter, since Sabres can move 3 prospects for McDavid and did not really feel it. I went with "western canada", but it could be Peterka/Rosen/Kulich in place of Benson/Savoie

U misunderstood
My point wasn’t that u made Cozens available as much as it made Peterka “NOT available” for some reason
Peterka isn’t untouchable by ANY means
And we would easily move him if it meant getting McDavid

Yeah, if I comes to "Peterka or no deal" - he is gone, I agree. But still would prefer giving out 1 roster player, picks and prospects, rather than 2 roster players.

Ok, but you do know McDavid is extremely unlikely to be traded, right?
I know it’s probably “fun” for some ppl to speculate, but it’s so far fetched (esp for this season) that it’s really just a waste of time

No offense
