I really really doubt that your team would end up better after trading Chabot, unless maybe trading him for a guy who would sign with your team instead of his current team so it invloves a bit of luck.

But most likely, you'd trade Chabot for quantity and your team would be worse. Exactly what the last 4 games have shown. It's MAJOR the impact he has on transition and driving the offense. I know some people scapegoat Chabot but you attack LESS, you have to defend MORE. It's quite simple, but people don't know/realize that

Connor McDavid, Alexander Ovechkin and Steven Stamkos

And it was not Batherson for Thomas, it was Batherson AND Chabot for Thomas and Parayko...

Since we're at it, Batherson is a year older and started to play in the NHL older but he has a career 0.69 PPG, Thomas 0.74 PPG

Thomas is a center and has more value but Batherson's contract closes the gap.

Thomas makes $8,125,000 while Batherson has 4 years left at $4,975,000
