Replace Brodie with Klingberg and deal... We'll throw an extra 3rd in too and another 3rd to keep Robo off

They add Dube and I call it fair. I’ll pack Brodies bags for him and drive him to the airport myself.

The edmonton trade would be close except it's edmonton and they have to pay the Battle of Alberta rivalry tax. The Vladar trade isn't too far off either but the Toronto and Boston trades are laughably bad for Calgary making either one would get Conroy fired.

Maybe not the best trades I've ever seen, but 3 draft picks and 2 young wingers in exchange for 3 pending UFA's that don't plan on returning isn't exactly "laughable" imo.

The Toronto deal looks a little much. I like the players going both ways. A first is hard to chew on but it may be what would have to happen to acquire the players and retention... IF Robertson has finally sorted himself out, that would be a good deal for CGY... he has played well albeit 2 games.

Zadorov wants to stay in Calgary, we want to keep him and yes laughable is exactly what the Boston and Toronto trades are. DeBrusk is a pending UFA left shot winger who isn't exactly young anymore, Robertson is a bust (a pending RFA too) and we don't want Brodie back. What's left after that might be enough for Tanev alone but not for Zadorov or Lindholm far less all three.

Robby has as many points in 2 games then Coronato does in 10, he isn’t a bust(how is a 2nd rounder a bust?), he’s just had injury woes, his talent was always there

You've got to be kidding. Coronato is a rookie who's barely started his professional career. Coronato has actually played more games to date in the NHL (11) than in the minors (2). Robertson on the other hand has been with the Leafs for 4 or 5 years already has only played in 33 NHL games and not a whole lot more in the AHL either.

Coronato is younger, bigger, better and probably a lot less injury prone too.

Staying in the AHL with the Marlies for the rest of what will be a short career.

That Edmonton trade is brutal. Markstrom is playing better this year, so sending him to Edmonton as a favor isn't going to happen. Calgary taking on Campbell would cost Edmonton, so there is no value in this deal. The Boston deal is very lopsided. If Calgary is trading Lindholm, then they may as well get futures for him from a team that actually has futures to give.

1. Markstrom Declines
2. Tanev to TOR, sure, but we'll get a better offer from EDM or another Team and we don't want Brodie (can't imagine he wants to return either), we have zero need and Robertson provides no value to the Flames and Big-Z should be extended long-term
3. That's a Terrible return for Lindholm. We're better off getting a 1st RD Pick + Top Prospect + Additional Picks/Prospects + Taking a Roster Player back to make the $$$ work
4. Meh, I wouldn't be in a hurry to dump Vladar. You don't need the Cap Space in this AGM and we should just carry 3 Goalies if/when need be, just in case Wolf struggles

At 22 and being in his last year of Waivers Exemption, Robertson is running out of time to prove he's NHL Capable. He's been given opportunities, but his AHL success hasn't translated in to the Big Leagues, likely due to his size

The Flames are set with Left Shot AHL'ers, we already have Pelletier for example, so Robertson has literally zero = no value to us

Yup, saw that and it's a good decision given we have the Cap Space to do so and just in case either Markstrom or Vladar fall ill, get injured or struggle on this road trip

Also, it's the perfect opportunity to reward Wolf and remind him we have future plans for him. It also shows Dansk we have confidence in him to hold down the fort while Wolf's away as well. I didn't want Dansk back tbh, but his stats in his first 2 games this year are great. I'm curious who they'll have as backup for the Wranglers now though
