Description

Geekie was signed to possibly play center, but Beecher abs Poitras are not going anywhere and obviously surprised upper management making Geekie expendable and I don’t really see how he fits into the roster this year and in the future.

Hanifan comes home and signs a hometown discount plays top pairing minutes.

Edmonton makes a late season push after some moves and with Hanifan in the line up 48 gets moved to Edmonton for a swap on rentals. Goal tending might be bad in EDM but that Defense stinks and needs some help. I think it makes sense for both teams.

Agreed. But not much - add another great prospect of 2nd Rd Pick.
Only other thing is that Boston is likely going to have to send some cap back, no?

Boston does not need Noah and it blocks Lohrei from top 4.

Grizz far more valuable than Foeggle.

In this scenario where we're getting Hanifin at 50% retained I don't think so, Geekie makes 2mil and if this happens at the deadline I assume we'll have accrued enough space to make up for the 400k difference..

I like the idea of trading Geekie. I was confused about the signing when it happened and it has not seemed like a good fit. It is early, so I would be patient with him until the deadline, but if there is interest around the league for him I think the B's should absolutely deal him in a package for a C or W.
