Even if he only wanted to go to Toronto, that doesn't mean Calgary is taking back Klingberg for anything less than the cost of offloading his terrible contract. And they very well could say get bent to taking back any bad contracts.

NO signs point to Calgary downgrading from Nikita Zadorov to the more expensive and less defensive John Klingberg, and a B prospect and over-the-horizon third don't make up for the discrepancy.

Didn't Sheldon Keefe just announce that Klingberg's lack of performance is because he has been playing hurt? That would be another reason why Calgary wouldn't be interested.
