    A) You've made this team worse. Why on EARTH would you move Pettersson? He's our best defensive damn. Not to mention you traded him for nothing.
    B) Bertuzzi is not signing that cheap. He's doing that THIS year to get his asking price up.
    C) You want to pay 3rd pairing dman $4M+?

    We'll see how things go leading up to the trade deadline. If CHI doesn't need the retention slot, maybe. But, right now, a 3rd doesn't feel like enough for burning that retention slot AND sending a player that is playing pretty well for us, on a rental deal.

    None of those defensemen come anywhere close to the impact of Pettersson. That's awful LHD depth and no RHD that I would want on a top PK unit. The blue line is completely unbalanced.
    The returns for Rakell and Pettersson are both awful. Raks hasn't been scoring well yet, but he's been pretty positive defensively and it's only a matter of time before he finds his mojo. Pettersson is our best defensive defenseman and IMO a better fit for the top pairing workload than Graves.
    Bertuzzi will probably get better offers. He's another case like Rakell where it looks to me like you're looking at a single rough stretch for them and deciding that it tanks their value massively.
