You don't find it odd that the difference between your 1st pairing defenseman, who plays on all special teams, and your 3rd pairing defenseman, who only barely plays on the penalty kill, is a 2nd round pick?

Or how about, don't you find it odd that Zadorov is more valuable than Tanev when you are taking on a 6 million dollar cap dump as part of it?

Why are the Leafs paying a great deal more for Zadorov than Vancouver is paying for Tanev?

Canucks pass.Not using a first to trade Myers.Tanev is not worth a first.IMHO.

Yeah teams have gotten smarter about paying outrageous prices for rentals they don’t have any reasonable hope of re-signing. Not a single team is doing any of the trades proposed by the op.
