I can't see CGY trading with EDM

Oh 100%. You never want to overreact, however, we are in a hole, and in some weird trend. We win some games, then lose a bunch. We were good there for two games, but now we are in a hole again! I know in the off-season, Holland has tried to get us some defenders, which I appreciate, however, there’s a point to where there is a not so great chance that your team is getting out of the slump soon, and you need to do something before it’s too late.

Yeah just seems to me as a neutral like woodcroft was not the problem, I get that it sends a message to the room but if I'm jeff jackson I'm telling holland how bout just try getting him a decent dman before you pull the plug midseason lol

If this team can't string wings together, then it probably doesn't really matter who they bring in outside of a goalie (not a sure fire thing though - I bet Mrazek would suck as an Oiler). Right, now other than rentals, there's not really anyone available for them to target that can make a difference in terms of defense and goaltending. With how cap-strapped the Oilers are, trading for Chychrun probably would have been the move to make, although, I don't think him alone would have solved their problems and that they would still need Ekholm. I don't think Holland will be the GM beyond this season which isn't to say he should make a panic move but if another opportunity arises to grab a defender with term like Chychrun, he shouldn't hesitate to make a move.
