How about you take the Pasta contract -1m as its a contract year and players often play their best during that year and you get the actual contract. That way if Willy's play drops and it probs will once he signs and gets his money your not overpaying a guy

10-10.5m x 8 years for him is fair. As considering the comparable giving him 11+ is just not justifiable. Its a contract year and hes playing his heart out tends to happen when money is involved.

Willy is a nice offensive guy who plays well but can get hot and cold. Hes having himself a season but remember its a contract year that tends to make players play their best hockey

Marner is very overrated. Nylander has been better including in the playoffs

This is a player top centers want on their wing and we have seen that with JT and Matthews having solid performances with his passes.

I’d give u Chabot and Batherson for Nylander. I’d even throw in a 1st to get that extension done. I’d give him 11+ easy

He will cry again unless he gets close to Matthews…so I guess close to 13M? Great player but not a huge difference maker, especially in the playoffs. Pretty sure he would waive to move on…who knows though maybe they give him a new deal as well.

Lmao are u on drugs? Nylander is getting 11.5-12 and Marner is getting 12.5-13 . Marner is also negotiating a year later when the cap will be at 90

If that's the case, trade Marner for tons of assets and get a star defensemen... IDK who, but the Leafs should use 3/4 of their assets from Marner on a good defensemen and 2 middle 6 forwards and could have a defensive core of:

Rielly-Brodie
Star-Tanev
McCabe-Lilly
Zadorov
