Explain to me why Anaheim has any interest in acquiring Kuznetsov, at all, and why we would pay a premium for retention that we don't need.

Mantha holds zero value to Detroit, Washington is the one who needs to add to Mantha. And probably only get FC for him.

No kidding. I'd say the Ducks are overachieving this season considering what was expected out of them this year. I saw them at way lower than they are now, so why would they pay for Kuzy of all people when he's not needed and doesn't improve them that much if at all.

Kuzy provides nothing we don't already have in spades. Centers? Got too many. Stanley cup playoff experience, got plenty. Veteran presence? Got enough of that.

Even if we had a serious playoff push, we wouldn't be adding a forward.
