Honestly, I am starting to think that we may have to buyout Campbell after this year. He has a M-NTC with 10 teams he gets to put on it. I bet you he put the bottom feeders on that. Regardless, it would be hard to move him, as his contract is getting worse and worse by the minute.

I don't wanna throw shade, but if Edm made that Campbell trade I might die of laughter!! Cause Edm must have short term memory loss if they are gonna trade for a goalie that Toronto just paid to unload prior to last year lol. The irony of paying to get a goalie that recent got traded due to the same reasons!! Might as well keep the 1st and start the rebuild by trading Connor and Leon!!

I have to think he waives that NTC for just about any team. EDM is currently a bottom feeder and he's not even on that team. Being in Bakersfield is worse that San Jose or Chicago. I also disagree that it's getting worse and worse by the minutes. It's the same contract regardless of how bad his performance is. No one is looking at him like he's going to contribute anyway. So let up 100 goals per game and it's still $5M cap hit at the NHL level or $3.85M post waived.

The purpose isn't really because they like Mrazek, it's to unload the contract. Mrazek is just playing well right now. Maybe that can jump start the team if he can play a few games well.

Do you actually believe the cost here is FOR Mrazek? The cost there is entirely the price of dumping Campbell. CHI could literally not even include Mrazek and it would still cost just as much. Including Mrazek with retention, a goalie who has been playing as well as any goalie in the league this season, thus far, is purely an act of generosity.
