I'll start this by saying that I really like Lysell but feel this package would be easily beat elsewhere.

If I were to split the deal value wise you have Lindholm going for the Lysell, 1st and 2nd.

After that it's Tanev for spare parts.

Flames could find more for Tane elsewhere.

Tanev is worth a 2nd. The rest is for Lindholm.

With retention this isn't enough.

Many fanbases have been willing to pay more.

A 3rd pairing Dman isn’t worth a 1st. I’m not sure what more you’d want for Lindholm than a top prospect, a 1st and two depth players. A 1st, a 3rd and Lysell would be the same package.

Probably not enough from BOS.

Kuntar and Steen dont carry alot of value and the picks being in 2025 and 2026 definitely lessen it. Lindholm at 50% for Geekie, Lycksell, the 2025 1st and 2026 2nd is very close to a pretty good offer CGY will take though, or even without geekie.

I expect a retained Lindholm to bring back a first, A prospect like Lysell and a 2nd. He's a first line centre afterall and if you go by precedent in years past the deals resemble this package.

Then the deal would boil down to a retained Tanev for a whole lot of nothing lol. That's where I disagree on value. Tanev isn't a 3rd pairing guy either, I know he comes with injury risks but when he isn't injured he's a top 4 d-man.

Just not enough value.
