I have never seen a habs fan seriously thinking Caufield > Matthews.

And we knew Knies weren’t gonna play with AM and MM, they brought Bertuzzi for that role. Even then, people were still saying : 60 pts w/o AM, 70-80 with him

The Kings are good right now like 4 points outside of being the top team in the league with 17 GP, and no one is on the ice more than Doughty in all situations for the Kings. I think you just might need to chalk this up to you not knowing what you are talking about, because the guy is back and has been back for like 2 seasons now.

Maybe, but only two other teams in NHL history have gone further than this, so I'll call that pretty impressive. The Kings have had the second-hardest schedule in the league and are 3 points away from Vegas with 2 games in hand.

Their top 4 has Sanheim, York, Seeler, Walker in it, so no matter who's defensive system you use those guys aren't shutting down top lines consistently.

What is the criteria?

It seems there is no unifying characteristic among these players. Overrated guys can be…older vets who have regressed relative to reputation….a fan favorite overpumped by singular fanbase…a lucky rando shooting 20% higher than career norm…simply overpaid…

What’s the story here?

Hard to overrate Carlo and lindholm when they have been 2 key pieces to the best defensive team of the last 2 seasons. Literally 2 of our top 3 dmen
