Cheap forwards we can easily extend are worth it because the picks aren’t useful to us right now.

They aren’t up against the cap. Carlo and Ullmark going up frees up over 9 million.

Cheap forwards you can get as free agents who play bottom 6 roles, don't give 1sts for those it's a terrible use of assets.

They are taking on more than they are sending and they have been cap tight with 21 and 22 man roster all season.

This puts them over.
