Funny one! Boston says no to that deal every day.

Kulak and Pickard are trash, Bruins have to give up their number 1 goalie, 19 year old stud center, and their franchise defenseman for just Leon Draisaitl… I don’t think so

Boston declines. For the cost of Drai Oilers fans are insisting on, it makes no sense for Boston. They're better off getting a good 1c instead of one of the very best, they're better contenders with Sway and McAvoy than with Draisaitl instead

Boston gets the second best player in the world and only gives up from two positions they have depth in: goal and D.

Seems like a clear win for the beans

I'm definitely more of a Bruins fan than an Oilers fan

It's a little early to call Poitras a "stud" center. He's a good prospect.

I didn't mean to insinuate that you were a fan of the Oilers, as an Albertan I understand how important it is to get that right. I more so meant that this is a package similar to what I've seen suggested for Draisaitl by Oilers fans and while I get that he's one of the best players in the world, the Bruins need a good to really good player as their 1c, not a guy who is all world but costs them the core of what makes them a great team in the first place

I’d say he’s playing pretty darn well for a 19 year old, 2nd round pick. 9 points in 18 games is not bad at all considering he’s playing on a line with Danton Heinen, who literally signed less than a month ago, and Jake DeBrusk who has been very cold. Put Poitras back with Marchand, you’ll see his point totals rise.

He’s a very very good player yes. However, I need to see him put up numbers when Connor McDavid is out of the lineup. He seems to go kind of quiet when McDavid isn’t in the lineup.

That's Fair. Dallas or Calgary may be better fits for centers. Dallas has lots of center depth and Calgary is on the verge of rebuilding.

I hate the Oilers with a passion, but I'm the first to admit that Draisaitl is better than any player Calgary has had since Iginla. The only question would be if he would resign with Boston. Boston has depth at d and goal, and a line of pasta and drai would be unstoppable.

I would have swapped Carlo for McAvoy, but I didn't think he would waive and it made the cap more difficult to navigate

Just going to add that he literally won the Hart the last time McDavid sustained a significant injury that set him out for longer than a week. Draisaitl is all-world with or without McDavid. Recency bias may be swaying you by the fact that in the 2 games McDavid was out this year, we got steamrolled.

I would say some recency bias is included, but I don’t believe Draisaitl plays at the same level without McDavid, as he does with him. And that would be the same for any player, when the best hockey player in the world right now is not in the lineup. It’s no shot at him, it’s just reality

Maybe it’s just me, but this is why I don’t believe Drai is going to be traded. There is no way two GM’s will come to an agreement on the caliber of player needed and frankly, NMC’s would likely kill it even if it did.

Drai is an incredible player and I wouldn’t trade him if I were A GM unless his agent told me he wasn’t resigning
