I'm guessing no, because he would want more years instead of looking for a new contract at age 31. But certainly a fair offer you proposed...for both sides if they wanted to go the four year route.
Would bring the same problem the Leafs have had for years. Signing 10 players at an average of 2m each, though any contract for Nylander would bring the same issue.

Nah go long term less money

11.25M x 4 years just looks bad

Could make sense for Willy.

Cap is projected to be $100M in 4 years.

Marner's current deal was 13% of the cap. I get Willy will be 31 but if he has 2/3 100 points seasons it's not absurd to think he gets an 8 year deal at $12.5M then.

Especially since McDavid will have resigned by then for likely $14M+.

Makes sense for him but no team will give him that little term

Its either 6-7 years open market or 6-8 years here

Because it keeps the cap down and besides Willy is not the type of player who should see massive regression even in his 30's

He doesnt play that style of hockey that should result in a slowdown as he is not a physical guy

Look at Pavelski still a workhorse

First l think Kampf and Jarnkrok are traded in the off-season. Let's wait and see what Willie's final numbers are before offering him a contract. Willie is a career .849ppg player with last season being his only year he had more than a ppg. Leafs need to get 2 top4 d-men in the off-season to be a true contender imo.

Finally someone who is observing whats happening with other "big" TML contracts and isnt riding the wave of : " TML are so precious anyone should beg to play in the Team " as every homer on this site do.

Will just quote myself here, so i wont lose time re-writing :

I heard both Nylander and Marner will take Team friendly offers same as Captain Underpants did.....oh wait...

why the f would either of them go for 8 x 11M if Matthews commanded 5 x 11,634M after two consecutive 60+ Seasons and he was on the way of 90+ points ( i believe it was 32 Games, 37 Points ) at the time when he dictated his contract and "helped TML". Not to mention the latest 13,250M one .....

Marner has three 90+ Seasons notched on his belt now ( going for 4th ) and Nylander has two 80+ Seasons and projecting 130 this Season......

THINK AGAIN

Willy isn't getting over 10. This whole ideal that a hot streak is going to wipe away his entire career is just the usual extreme nonsense that surrounds TO. He's a great player and likely worth 10 but more is just silly.

What is the point of this? To tell all other leaf fans they are stupid? What an odd thing to jump on here and do
