The last time Zadorov was traded, the return was a 3rd round pick and he wasn’t a pending UFA. Why would the Leafs trade a 3rd + a 5th + 3 prospects now?

Both teams decline. Getting the better player, with retention, and dumping multiyear contract takes more than 2 fifths. Zadorov will also cost more than ahlers and some mid round picks.

lol what Traded was traded for back then is completely irrelevant now. He’s become a substantially better player since joining the Flames and only a fool would ever dispute that
