First, we don't solve the problem if we take a G in return. But also with retention Allen is worth a 2nd for a contender.

I belive we will gonna only solve this problem only after the season. Raanta's contract finish this season, so we will gonna have Monty and Primeau for the next season.

And a 2nd, that's can be possible, but I don't think the teams will gonna be very open for that.

When PIT was desperate to get rid of Petry so that they could acquire Karlsson, they paid a 2nd. Look at what we got for Hoffman and Pitlick.

So we trade Raanta, who likely was playing hurt, for someone who isn’t really much of an upgrade. If they trade Raanta, which again is unlikely, they are making a move for someone is an actual starter.
